The act365.com project site aims to produce tools and provide information for the general benefit of the Web community. All of the source code used on the site is available at Sourceforge, where it has been released under the Gnu Public License.
It is assumed that this site is being viewed using at least either Internet Explorer 4 or Netscape Navigator 4. All of the Java applets hosted at this site aim to be compatible with JDK 1.1.
The Avalon project is dedicated to providing analytical tools for the financial community. It has hosted Government bond yield calculators since August 1998 - however, the calculator has not been updated to take into account the many recent changes in the European market, so it returns reliable figures for the US only.
Tools for cricket fans are available here. Note that the Duckworth/Lewis calculator that once appeared on the site has had to be removed at the insistence of Duckworth and Lewis.
Essentially, the Four-Colour Theorem states that it is possible to paint any two-dimensional surface in such a way that no two adjacent regions on the surface share a common colour without using any more than four colours. Four-colour darts is a simple game based upon the theorem.
The JSocket Wrench library adds support for raw sockets to the Java programming language. Moreover, it provides an implementation of TCP that sits on top of the raw sockets layer written entirely in Java. The JSocket Wrench project is hosted at http://jswrench.sourceforge.net.
